The effectiveness of a counseling program based on self-compassion to improve psychological flexibility and psychological prosperity among a sample of divorced women in the city of Buraidah

Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of a counseling program based on self-compassion to improve psychological flexibility and psychological prosperity among a sample of divorced women in the city of Buraidah, and the study relied on the semi-experimental approach by designing one group with pre, post and tracking testing, and the size of the experimental sample for this study was (20) divorced aged between (28-47) years with an arithmetic average of (36.7) And a standard deviation (6.94), and the study tools consisted of: the scale of self-compassion numbers of Neff (2003) translated and codified by Abdul Rahman and others (2014), the scale of psychological resilience prepared by Connor and Davidson (2003) translated and codified by the researcher Muhammad Muhammad Al-Qolali (2016), the psychological prosperity scale prepared by researchers Hana Zaki and Sameh Harb (2021), and the mentorship program prepared by the researcher, and the study reached a number of results, the most important of which are:  The existence of statistically significant differences between the average scores of the experimental group members in the pre- and post-measurements And for all dimensions of self-compassion and psychological flexibility in all its dimensions, as well as for all dimensions of psychological prosperity and in favor of telemetry, as well as the results showed that there are no statistically significant differences between the average ranks of the experimental group scores in the dimensional and tracking measurements on self-compassion, psychological flexibility and psychological prosperity, Through the previous results, which confirm the effectiveness of the counseling program based on self-compassion, which is supported by many recent studies presented, the current study confirms the effectiveness of self-compassion in taking it as a goal for counseling interventions that try to improve many aspects of mental health, especially psychological flexibility and psychological prosperity, and in light of these results, the researcher proposed a number of recommendations and research.
