Social Media Addiction (Snapchat - Instagram) and its Relationship with Marital Distress in Saudi Families- Psychometric and Clinical Study

Abstract

The study aims to distinguish between the compatibility between addiction to the use of social media (Snapchat - Instagram) and adults in Saudi families, and the prevalence of addiction to the use of social media (Snapchat - Instagram) among married couples in the Saudi family. To achieve the objectives of the study, the application was relied upon. The descriptive and clinical approach seeks to obtain tools, including: an information form prepared by the researcher, the social media addiction scale prepared by the researcher, the Qaddour Distress Scale 2013, and the TAT test. The study consisted of (169) husbands and wives who used social media with an average age of ( 38,796), The research reached several results, including: The number of Snapchat addicts out of the total sample (108), out of (169), with a percentage of (63.9%), and the number of Instagram addicts out of the total sample (130), out of (169). ), with a percentage of (76.92%), and those addicted to Snapchat and Instagram together out of the total sample amounted to (92) out of (169), with a percentage of (54.43%), The research reached several results, including: The number of Snapchat addicts out of the total sample (108), out of (169), with a percentage of (63.9%), and the number of Instagram addicts out of the total sample (130), out of (169). ), with a percentage of (76.92%), and those addicted to Snapchat and Instagram together out of the total sample amounted to (92) out of (169), with a percentage of (54.43%).
